Its warm and enduring scent is so calming to the senses and something I reach for every evening as part of my bedtime routine. There are so many beautiful tales attached to this daisy-like flower, my favourite is medieval monks planting raised garden beds of chamomile for those who were sad to lie on them as therapy. Chamomile was also spread on bare floors so that the scent was released when people walked on it…how lovely!
